A poignant story about persevering through challenges, respecting family and taking on responsibility and risks. The relationships between characters include not only those among fellow humans, but instructively, also horses extending the tale's arc into the realm of a coming-of-age classic.

Count Me Never Lost - Review
August 28, 2020
Certain to evoke memories and emotions is The ballad of J.F.K. in the poem Ricketts paints an unpretentious, unsentimental word picture of that November day in 1963. On May 8, 1964, Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy sent the following letter of appreciation to Ricketts: "Many thanks for your thoughtfulness in forwarding the meaningful verses about my brother," he wrote. "It was good of you to bring them to my attention."
A slender volume of poems, and clearly a work of art, Count Me Never Lost should be read again and again--sometimes out loud--savored, and treasured.
- Roger Zotti, Connecticut
