Slater Mountain Books - Reviews

February 7, 2020

In Yellowstone, book three of Judy Ricketts-White's Slater Mountain series for young readers, we get not only an engaging story and likeable characters, but a good measure of honest-to-goodness horse training gold. The author clearly and effortlessly weaves into her story line the principles and techniques of "natural" horsemanship, an approach that is humane, highly effective, and immensely satisfying. There's no better way to impart useful knowledge than to wrap it in a good yarn, and once again, Ricketts-White demonstrates her skill at doing just that.
